    Disappointed access to vehicle was very limited

    Went to view a vehicle and phoned ahead giving 45 minutes notice. When we arrived the vehicle was surrounded by many other cars. We couldn't access the boot or the open the bonnet because of the lack of space / proximity of other vehicles. Discovered a patch of bad rust on the top nearside rear door seam of a Kia Ceed, which seem to suffer from this. This would definitely need attention to prevent further ingress / deterioration and is not a small job as have had experience of this issue on a previous Ceed. When the issue was highlighted to the dealer there was no movement on the price of the vehicle. Given that it was not possible to fully examine the rest of the car because of access issues to the boot and engine bay / bonnet, decided against going any further on this one.

    We believe the car we viewed does not have a full service history, since there was no documentation such as invoices to support the service history . This was raised with the dealer and we suggested for the price to be reduced as work was needed. Mechanical issues of a serious nature will make this car uneconomical to repair. We expressed this in great detail and tried our best to reach a price which is closer to the current market. Auto Trader are not able to value the car owing to age, but others are selling for 2k. This trader wanted over 3k! He became rude and unpleasant and wasn’t happy to address the issues raised. Also, he admitted that he possesses neither any mechanical knowledge nor understanding, which is appalling when you sell cars for a living. In short it is just shocking customer service.

    Friendly non pushy staff, test drive at my leisure. Collection of car within a few days was easy. Had a small problem after 4 weeks , phoned them and sorted without fuss or hassle, on collection after repair greeted with a smile , superb company would recommend to anyone thinking of buying a quality used car

    Nice guys, very helpful and knowledgeable, they let the cars speak for themselves and encourage you to look for yourself and do not try to push you into something that they want you to buy. Saw the car one weekend, picked it up the next.

    Good Service – decent stock

    We were looked after well – treated politely – given all the info we needed. The car is as advertised. The back break was binding and I had to stop on the way home as I could feel it, but the AA man assured me this was just rust and that would resolve itself in a short time as it had stood for a while (also what the guys at Thatcham said). We are home now and very pleased with the car. Thanks.

    Bought Mazda 3 months ago. Problem with wheel and suspension. Need to take garage to repair it at extra cost

    Great, no pressure service, and great value.

    My wife and I visited Thatcham Motors a couple of times and there was absolutely no pressure from the staff. They were happy for us to look around on our own, but were happy to answer any questions we had about any of the cars. Going for a test drive was not a problem. We were very happy with the service and very satisfied with the car we bought. Would highly recommend.

    Really helpful and genuine people

    Very happy with the whole experience, the two salesmen came across really genuine. I’d already seen the car I wanted a Lexus Is250 which was Exactly as it was described in the advert. After a test drive for around 10 minutes it was time to talk money. We came to an agreement on price and I was very happy with that. The car was going to need a pair of front tyres in the near future so they kindly had a new pair fitted while I waited in the office. Within 30 mins the car was back and a new set of boots on the front. Overall one of the nicest experiences I’ve had buying a used car. And I’ve had zero problems with the Lexus which isn’t rare as they are bomb proof.
